Q: How often should I detail my car?

If you're a serious car enthusiast with a classic car, then you'll probably be taking it in for car detailing more often than a family with a commuter car. But for the average responsible car owner, every three months is a good auto detailing schedule. A quarterly maintenance detail should include washing, waxing, car shampooing, exterior trim care, brilliant wheel cleaning, auto floor mat cleaning, etc.

Q: Where is California Detail Shop located?

Our detail shop is located at 453 W Colorado Street in Glendale. The zip is 91204 if you need to map it online. We're just west of the Glendale Galleria, and we’re on the north side of the street. Being close to the Glendale Galleria, Americana at Brand, and other shopping areas makes it a convenient location for those who want to drop the family off and bring the car in for detailing. You can reach us via the Santa Ana Freeway (I-5) or Ventura Freeway (134), as well as the Glendale Freeway (2).

Q: What are some of the more advanced detailing services you offer?

If your car is in need of more advanced restoration work, we can provide scratch and swirl removal, dent removal, clay bar treatment, and more. As for the interior, in addition to upholstery cleaning and detailing, we can provide stain removal, steam cleaning, leather treatment and conditioning, and much more.

Q: What are clay bars and what do they do?

California Detail Shop performs magic clay prep work that is highly effective at removing even the smallest pollutants and contaminants from your vehicle's finish. Clay bars are made from a malleable resin that can remove paint contaminants such as brake and rail dust and pollutants. Most importantly, clay bars use neither harsh chemicals nor abrasives. A clay bar is used in combination with a lubricant to give your car a smoother, shinier gloss.
